Harmony went end of life

But fortunately there are some worthy replacements. The SofaBatton and the far more expensive Yio look to fill the void left behind by the Harmony exiting the market. But with better CEC and Matter will these remotes be needed? The SofaBatton has a good universal remote already available for $50 and a Kickstarter campaign for the Harmony Replacement is well underway for $100. The Yio is also a kickstarter that will run you $420.

in episode 1032 you guys talk about driveway lights and why you don't have any. i think it would be a cool idea to light a driveway like a taxiway at the airport: light sources built into the ground, blue along the edges and green along the centerline :-)
those taxiway and runway lights are TOUGH. they have to withstand a fully loaded A380 running over them at takeoff speeds. i don't have the numbers for an A380, but on a fully loaded 747-400 (slightly smaller) each one of the 16 main wheels has to support 25 metric tons (the weight of 25 small cars) during rotation (just before liftoff) at speeds of up to 200 knots (230mph). that's faster than a formula one car. tire limit speed is 204 knots (235 mph) on the 747.

ok, i doubt you can get those lights unless you want to build an airport, but maybe there is something similar out there? or maybe you could 3d-print something? the advantage of this solution would be that they could not be damaged by incompetent drivers.

Hi Harry!

That sounds like a wonderful idea!! And with LEDs you can change the color depending on the mood! A sensor could detect a vehicle and then activate the sequencing of the lights to mimic approach lights of an airport!

Thanks!
