Much cheaper bass-shakers and amps are available for home theater seating than mentioned in this podcast.

I installed 4 AURA bass shakers over ten years ago to the bottom of the recliner-sofa in my home theater.
Cheaper exciters are available:, starting at $13.90 each.

Amps start at $9.88:

From dual subwoofer outputs on a receiver, one output is connected to the subwoofer and the other to the small amp that feeds the bass shakers. (Or use a Y splitter connected to a single subwoofer output.)
