Podcast #838: Short Throw Projector Follow Up
On Episode 836 we talked about the idea of short throw projectors for home theater use and asked the question: Why aren’t more people using them in their homes? Their price per square inch of screen real estate seems like, at least on paper, the most cost effective way to get a huge screen at home. So why aren’t they flying off the shelves? We had a ton of great listener feedback on it, so we decided to create a feature out of it.

Listening today to your this podcast on the Oppo story you might want to have a listen to AVForums Podcast: Episode 216 - 9th April 2018 (audio available on Youtube) "00:06:35 – Oppo stops AV and HiFi production in favour of mobile phones" is has a good discussion on Oppo and whats going speaking of high end DAC;s n DAP's. Also on the same show they discuss some high end music streaming services by Qobuz. Finally, there was a great video by the The Hans Beekhuyzen Channel Published on 6 Apr 2018 Audio formats: too much to choose from? He does a great summary of formats, media and comes down heavily on pro-MQA. Anyway good work on your podcasts
Sorry I forgot this. When you were speaking of overpriced digital Audio Players and headphones, you might want to check out the FIIO X1 (that I have and love) and HiFiMan Megamini Review a review here by and Aussie channel Currawong (that's an Australian Bird with a fantastic call) https://youtu.be/JaKG9wXD6ug. Both seem to be under well under $100 USD. For me the FIIO DOES do something for the sound but you have to have the music and the hifiman's pedigree is in headphones. A lot of the players are coming out and have a similar Chinese interface with varying functionality.
