Review: Ford Sync

We have a video review of the Ford Sync System.  SYNC is an easy-to-use in-car connectivity system, standard on all 2010 Lincoln models and available on select 2010 Ford and Mercury models. SYNC allows you to operate most popular MP3 players, Bluetooth®-enabled phones and USB drives with simple voice commands.

The latest SYNC features available to owners include:

  • Turn-by-Turn Navigation
  • 911 Assist
  • Vehicle Health Report
  • News, Sports and Weather
  • Real-time Traffic
  • Business Search

Great review. Like I mentioned to you guys in a previous e-mail, we have a great community at mp3car.com which is all about installing macs and pc's into vehicles as mobile solutions.

Thanks for the review, Ara. I have been using Sync for 2 years now but without the video screen. It is interesting to see the difference. I love it and download the HTGuys podcast to my phone and listen via bluetooth to you guys in the car.

Fun review. Glad you are getting more of the family involved. It seems like you are sitting in the parking lot of the Hilside Montessori School for this review? Maybe somewhere close by?

Nice videos, I have been listening to the podcast for a few years and just wanted to say I like idea of you guys doing some videos.

The sync system looks amazing, I can't wait to see that here in Australia.

Cool review Ara. The Ford Syns looks great, but man, the Ford Explorer dashboard is frikken ugly - so boxy and square - typical American design, or lack thereof.

There may be a work around to get video to play while in "drive". On my Chysler 300 you put the car in reverse, press the audio button then put the dvd in.

Whoa Ara!!!! Time to get a new iPhone case! Seriously now, I enjoyed watching. Video gave me a good idea of how it works. Thanks.

Interface is similar to Chrysler UConnect system that we have on our recently purchased Jeep. Have fun with it. I do not like that it only allows the verbal interface to work when in motion rather than allow verbal and button commands to work. Only limited buttons work when moving I guess as a safety feature.

We do like that it just reroutes when you make a wrong turn without the kind of less kind feedback I am used to from our portable Garmin units.
