Nope.
If I'm gonna watch TV, I'm gonna *watch* TV. Whether its a movie, a show, sports, whatever.
No dinner, no games, no other distractions.
I'm watching TV to be entertained. Nothing more aggravating than multiple simultaneous "entertainments".
Yes, I recognize I'm likely in the minority.
(Though I will admit to snacks/drinks with my sports. But that's just part of the experience, yeah?)
Not even popcorn?
Thanks for your feedback Clint!
I think it really comes down to what space you have available in your home. I had what was essentially a family room in my basement that we never used because there was no point to it when we had one on the main floor. During Covid, I made it my project to turn that basement space into a theater, and it went from never being used to getting used all the time. When we watch movies, have guests over, or big sporting events, it’s in the theater. If we do want to eat and watch tv, watch the news or just something on YouTube the family room works for that. I think most people with a theater have dual spaces for multi uses. The theater space just adds so much more to the experience if you have the space to add it. If I move to a new house I will make sure I can put a theater in. After having one it’s not something that I can live without. I am a huge movie fanatic and so is my family so that is something we all enjoy doing together so that is also something to consider. We host movie nights with friends to watch Oscar nominated movies as an example. So if movies aren’t your passion, then a theater won’t make sense and probably won’t get used enough to justify having it.
