Box office ticket sales dropped by 5.2% in 2014 hitting a low that hasn’t been seen in 19 years. We are partially to blame. We have invested thousands in home theater equipment that can produce an experience better than most theaters, especially if you include non-technical aspects like concession prices and noisy patrons. Why pay high ticket prices when if you are patient you can buy the disc for less than it costs for two people to go see a movie.
